Fancy的第一个含义

One meaning of the word ‘fancy’ is

something looks like it was very expensive.

昂贵的

比如说 fancy cars

昂贵的车

e.g. Wow！ That Ferrari is so fancy.

I could never buy one，it is too expensive.

It looks really fancy.

Fancy的第二个含义

I am not a fancy person.

我不是一个精致的人.

（也就是 我们所说的 精致的猪猪女孩）

我们的Rebecca老师

does not really spend much time on

doing her hair （做造型），

painting her nails （美甲），

buying pretty clothes（买漂亮的衣服）.

她觉得浪费很多时间和金钱

She thinks this is a waste of time and money

So she is not a fancy girl

她不是一个fancy的女人

But many people in Miami （迈阿密），

especially Cuban （古巴的）girls

都是特别fancy的，

Everyone in Miami is very beautiful.

Everyone spends lots of time and money doing their hair（做头发） , painting their nails（美甲） and buying lots of clothes（买衣服）.

This is an important part of Cuban culture.

这是古巴文化很重要的一部分

Rebecca老师的爸爸是古巴人，妈妈是美国人，

Her mother did not really think

it was important for her

to wear makeup （化妆）， lots of new clothes and spend so much time

on her appearance（外表）

Being fancy sometimes is fun.

有时候精心打扮自己也是非常有趣的

比如：

Dress up nicely for a party or special occasion

在派对或者特殊场合盛装打扮

我们可以有时精致一点~

I only like to do once in a while.

因为我们没有时间天天精致

I don't have time to be fancy every day.

In China , many people will agree that it is more important to be educated and hardworking than to look fancy all the time.

在中国，许多人都认可，受教育和努力工作 比 每天都是精致的“猪猪女孩” 更重要。

Which is more important？

哪一个更重要呢？

Success in your work and your life

（事业生活的成功）

or

looking fancy .

（精致的外表）

I think some people

have had lots of success

and also look fancy .
